Other pictures on this site were taken when deep shadows were present to show you details better. This photo of Proclus, a medium-sized very bright crater is different. I took this photo away from the shadows to show you the strange pattern of white rays coming from the crater. The crater is only a few hundred million years old (a youngster). The rays resulted when an object struck the moon at less than 15 degrees from the horizontal.
